Liz's Story
Born and raised in the North Woods of Minnesota, Liz Kilgo grew up in a small country shack, spending time as a child making up songs while doing chores. Her early music inspiration included sounds of Hank Jr., Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson.
Beginning writing songs at 9 years old, Liz took part in school bands, choirs and plays, and became serious about song writing at 13. Then forming her first band with her cousin and sister, she began recording her original songs into an old cassette recorder. After being forced out on her own at age 16, Liz worked, putting herself through college where she studied music and honed her skills.
Flavored with originality and stamina, Liz Kilgo’s songs embrace all walks of life. “Songs laugh and cry with us,” says Liz, “I want my songs to come alongside people and experience the ups and downs with them.”
She continues her pursuit in writing, performing and recording quality country music, With her songs requested and played both on main stream and internet radio stations. Liz Kilgo resides in the surrounding Nashville area. (Gig dates updated and posted to this site).
